Angel One, the critical-care transport service of Arkansas Children’s, plays a vital role in moving critically ill pediatric patients between medical facilities. Designed to get young patients to the right level of care as quickly as possible, the program deploys ICU-level teams and specialized equipment during transport.

Angel One’s fleet includes ground support vehicles, two helicopters, and a King Air jet, all maintained by a dedicated team of 66 aviation professionals who ensure aircraft remain mission-ready around the clock.

To support the operational demands of this life-saving program, Gould Southern collaborated with Angel One to deliver a turnkey RFID-enabled toolbox solution for their aviation maintenance team. While Stephen Gould had previously delivered several aviation toolboxes for the program, this project marks the first fully integrated RFID-enabled system designed to improve tool tracking, organization, and maintenance efficiency.

The customized solution enables maintenance crews to digitally monitor tool inventory, quickly identify missing equipment, and maintain strict accountability, critical requirements in aviation environments where safety and precision are paramount. By integrating RFID technology into the tooling system, the Angel One team can streamline maintenance workflows and maintain compliance with rigorous aviation standards.

While this project represents a modest engagement in scale, it reflects a broader capability within Stephen Gould’s solutions portfolio: RFID-enabled tool control systems designed for aviation, manufacturing, and other high-precision industries.

More importantly, the collaboration supports an extraordinary mission.

As one team member involved in the project shared,

“What we do is cool, but knowing we’re supporting a program that helps save premature babies makes it even more meaningful.”

Stephen Gould is proud to play a small role in supporting the teams who deliver lifesaving care every day.
