Stephen Gould’s Jahaan Nargussi and Mark Taylor teamed up and played a key role in the launch of Gran Comisario, an ultra-premium tequila crafted with meticulous attention to detail. Gran Comisario introduces a nine-year-aged Extra Añejo tequila, housed in an intricately designed bottle and luxury packaging that enhances the consumer experience.

The Challenge

Bringing Gran Comisario to market required seamless collaboration between Stephen Gould, the distiller and design partner in Mexico. The team needed to transform an ambitious luxury packaging concept into a manufacturable solution while balancing premium materials, structural integrity, production feasibility and strict quality standards. Every detail, from the hand-ground and laser-etched glass bottle to the custom metal components and presentation box, required extensive refinement to achieve the brand’s elevated vision.

The Solution

The Sacramento team worked closely with the distillery and a design studio to engineer every component of the package, refining materials, optimizing structural elements and overseeing production from prototype through final manufacturing. Rigorous quality inspections ensured the hand-finished glass bottle met exacting specifications, while the packaging was optimized with an MDF-laminate base for durability and a refined presentation. Close coordination across domestic and international suppliers also ensured the bottle, metal embellishments and premium packaging delivered a cohesive luxury appearance.
